The Story Behind Our Next Generation of Paddles

In November 2023, we were among the first brands to introduce KVLR paddles. At the time, we did not see ourselves as a traditional equipment company, nor were we building a business in the conventional sense. Our focus was simple—to build a community in Karuizawa and create products that reflected its quiet beauty.
Our first paddle, the Gran Class 110, was released without fanfare within that community. It became, unexpectedly, the product that introduced EVERYDAY SOCIAL® to the world. Defined by its gold foil silhouette against forest green and lava red, it stood apart—not only in design, but in how it played.
At the time, it was described as a power paddle. Today, that definition has shifted. What was once called power is now understood as all-court balance. The sport evolves, and so must the language around it.
Quiet Evolution
We have never been interested in chasing trends.
Throughout 2024, we introduced new materials—Black & Gold Polyester “Titanium” and the ASAMA in a 3D 18K weave—each produced in small batches, each carefully considered in its balance and feel.
When the industry turned toward foam-core and EVA constructions in 2025, many brands moved quickly. Certifications became uncertain. Standards shifted. We chose to wait.
Our next paddle would be done properly—or not at all.
On Originality
Every EVERYDAY SOCIAL® paddle begins as an original idea.
Not a reaction, but a progression—an evolution within our own design language. Rooted in Karuizawa, this means restraint, craftsmanship, and the belief that what is beautiful must also be functional.
When we set out to create a “power paddle,” we asked a different question:
What should power feel like in a sport built on touch, timing, and connection?
We are not interested in maximizing raw force at the expense of the game. Instead, we pursue controlled, linear power—performance that enhances play while preserving the integrity of the sport and its community.
On Power
I began playing pickleball in the 1990s, when paddles were made of plywood. Since then, the sport has grown faster, louder, and more force-driven.
There is a place for power.
But the essence of pickleball lies elsewhere—in the rally that continues, the point earned through placement, the game that remains open and welcoming to all.
Innovation should expand the sport, not narrow it. A paddle should invite people in—not push them out.
Introducing the PWR Series
After a year of research, testing, and refinement, we are ready.
The Gran Class 110 PWR arrives in January 2026, followed by the Black & Gold PWR—two paddles that reflect what we have always pursued:
Linear power, held in balance.
Design, in service of play.
Craft, in every detail.
